Daughter kills violent father with shovel

A 33-year-old nurse has been arrested in Sri Lanka for killing her 66-year-old father by hitting him on his head with a shovel on Thursday, the ‘Island’ newspaper has reported.

Police said the victim, a drunkard, had been in the habit of assaulting his wife and other family members.

The victims succumbed to head injuries in a hospital in Horana, police said.
