Lover and blackmailers rape underage girl

A 17-year-old school student in Sri Lanka, who had carried on a love affair with a 14-year-old year girl for about one and a half years, took her to various locations and raped her several times until last October, the ‘Lakbima’ newspaper reported.

Meanwhile, learning about their love affair, three other 17-year-old youths blackmailed her, saying they have a video of the couple. Then they took her to a forested area in a three-wheeler vehicle where two of them raped her. The three youth were friends of the girl’s lover.

The victim’s mother came to know about these incidents through a friend of the girl and lodged a complaint with the police on November 1.

Police arrested the girl’s lover and one of the blackmailers and are searching for the other two.

The girl had been admitted to the Balangoda base hospital for medical examination.

Sleeping girl abducted and raped

Police in Sri Lanka has arrested a 17-year-old youth for abducting a sleeping underage girl from her brother’s house and raping her after taking her to another location, the ‘Lakbima’ newspaper reported.

The 14-year-old victim lived in her brother’s house and was sleeping in the kitchen at the time of the incident.

The girl came to the police station along with her brother to lodge the complaint.

The victim has been admitted to the Puttalam base hospital for medical examination and the suspect is due to be produced before the Puttalam District Court.
