Man slashes ex for snubbing him

A young man slashed his girlfriend’s throat to death with a sharp knife and drank poison after he came to know that she has an affair with another person in Ampara region in Sri Lanka.

According to a report in ‘Hiru Gossip,’ the accused is a bus conductor while the victim is a teacher of a school in in Ampara.

It was reported that the bus conductor became angry when the young woman snubbed him and began an affair with one of her peers from another school.

The accused decided to take a revenge from his ex-lover. He reportedly called his ex-lover to a paddy field in Konduwatuwana area where he slashed her throat with a knife and then drank poison.

He immediately called a bus driver to inform him about the incident.

After his suicide attempt, the suspect was admitted to Ampara hospital where he was in a stable condition.

Ampara police is investigating the crime.
