A grandmother in Sri Lanka's Jaffna area stumbled upon a T-56 assault rifle with two magazines, and 56 rounds of ammunition in her garden.
A report in 'The Island' quoted police as saying, the old woman was preparing the garden for her grandson to play on, when she accidently made the discovery in her house located near the Tinachikulam tank close to the Murugan Kovil in Jaffna.
The grandmother was quoted as reporting to police that her spade hit upon something hard and when she unearthed it, she found a bag that comprised firearms.
The police said that the haul was buried about 10 inches deep and further investigations are on.
