School principal sexually abused students

The principal of a school in Sri Lanka was arrested last Saturday on charges of sexually abusing several students, the ‘Ada Derana’ newspaper has reported.

Police in Rakwana took action following a complaint received by the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA). The school is located in Kendapola.

Teenager raped by mother’s brother

A 13-year-old girl has been sexually abused by her mother’s brother in Sri Lanka, the ‘Lakbima’ newspaper has reported.

The girl revealed the matter to her mother after learning that police is investigation the rape of a five-year-old girl in the neighbourhood.

Police said the 38-year-old suspect raped the teenager about seven months ago after bringing her to his house while her mother was admitted to a hospital for childbirth.

The court ordered medical examination of the teenager in a hospital which proved that she had been sexually abused.
