Girl in illicit relationship dies taking mom's pills

Colombo:  A teenage girl in Sri Lanka committed suicide by taking pills prescribed for her mother.

The 18-year-old, a student of Grade 12, was allegedly in a relationship with a married man and had once previously attempted ending her life, reported ‘Mawbima’.

She consumed 60 tablets, which was prescribed for her mother for high blood pressure, police said.

She may have been depressed, the report added.

Police is investigating the case.
