Colombo: A woman surrendered to Rambukkana police with a bloodstained knife after stabbing her husband twice as she could not bear his torture when he returned home drunk, ‘Sunday Mawbima’ reported.

The suspect was due to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate while Rambukkana police are investigating to ascertain any other reasons relating to the murder.

Father suspected of killing infant

A six-month-old infant girl has been found dead with head injuries in the Karuwalagaswewa area in Puttalam, and police said they have arrested the infant’s father and her aunt (mother’s sister) over her death,  ‘Mawbima’ reported.

The infant, who was seriously ill in the early hours of April 4, died a few moments later after being admitted to the hospital.
