Youth deceives teenager, molests her at home

Colombo: A young man allegedly raped a teenage girl in Sri Lanka by deceiving her to accompany him to convince one of her friends to make friendship with him.

According to a report in ‘Sunday Mawbima’, police has arrested the 18-year-old suspect for the alleged crime.

Police investigation revealed that the suspect approached the victim, seeking her help to become friendly with one of her friends.

Rejecting the suspect’s request, she told him that she could not do the matchmaking at this point.

On the day of the incident, the victim was taking a nap at home after household chores when the accused came to meet her.

The suspect allegedly raped her, insisting that rather she should love him. Later he brought three more friends – fishermen – to molest the 15-year-old victim and fled from the scene.

The victim narrated her ordeal to her mother, who lodged a complaint at a police station. The main suspect was arrested while the hunt is on for the other three suspects.
