Stepmom burns son to death for revenge

A 20-year old Egyptian young man was burnt to death after his stepmother poured kerosene over him while he was sleeping, reported Al Youm AL Sabea'a and El-Fagr.

The newspaper quoted that the killer saying that she had exacted revenge on the boy’s father for cursing her and her daughter all the time.

On the day the tragedy occurred, the Ramadan police station received a call about a fire in an apartment.

The firefighting officials extinguished the blaze. Officials found the body of a young man, identified as Islam-H-S, burnt to death. He was the son of the owner of the flat.

The prosecutors reported that the door of the room of the victim was locked from outside which meant that the victim was locked inside the room.

Meanwhile, police officials conducted extensive investigations to find out who was behind the incident and the motive behind the crime.

The investigation confirmed that the 40-year old stepmother, identified as Ahlam AM, committed the heinous crime.

The police arrested the killer who admitted her guilt, adding that the victim was staying with her in the apartment and that his father was always cursing her and that is why she decided to kill his son.

She added that on the day of the incident she bought petrol and waited until the father and son had gone off to sleep in their rooms.

She said that she turned on the volume of the TV and poured gasoline inside the victim’s room and then set the room on fire while he was sleeping and locked the room from outside.

The police referred the case to the prosecution.
