Teenager becomes dad after affair with maid

A 15-year-old boy in Ras Al-Khaimah became a father after having an illegitimate relationship with an Ethiopian housemaid and both were convicted by court.

The criminal court in the northern emirate put the boy under probation and sentenced the maid to three months in prison for adultery that led to her pregnancy and the birth of a baby girl, Emarat Al Youm said.
 
But the maid’s lawyer rejected the court sentence and said she would appeal it on the grounds the maid was a “victim of rape” by the boy.
 
Emarat Al Youm said the maid had concealed that she was pregnant and visited Saqr hospital when she was in labour.
 
When she failed to produce documents showing she was married, the hospital management contacted the police, who referred her to the prosecutor.
 
“In court, she denied adultery charges and claimed that the boy raped her and that she could not resist him,” the paper said.“The boy denied that he raped the maid and told court she seduced him.”
