The dentist who claimed emotional powers

An expatriate dentist in Saudi Arabia has been arrested for trying to have love affairs with his female patients by claiming he can cure emotional problems, the Saudi Arabic language daily Alwatan reported on Sunday.

A Saudi patient who visited his clinic told police that the unnamed dentist in the central town of Makkah starts caressing his patient on the face, claiming this would make the anaethsesia work well, the paper said.

“He claims that he has the ability to heal emotional coolness through scientific exercises… once he gives the drug injection, he starts caressing the patient’s cheek, ear, neck and lips, claiming this would ensure a more effective drug and eliminate any pain,” the paper quoted the woman as telling police.

“He waits to see if the woman accepts his move so he can continue caressing and reach sensitive parts of her body… he has also given many of them his mobile phone number and e-mail through which he has sent love messages.”

The paper said members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the most feared Islamic law enforcement body in the Gulf Kingdom, got the doctor’s e mail from the woman and wrote to him.

"They posed as a woman who wanted to see him… after a while, the correspondence started to become intimate…they then went to his clinic and arrested him… the doctor has been freed on bail pending his trial.”
