Remember the time when you were a kid and stepping into a fire truck with a blaring siren was all you dreamt about? You could make that dream come true for your child (and perhaps yourself too) right here in Dubai.

We all know that birthday parties for the little ones can get a little expensive in Dubai.

Certain venues in the emirate are rather popular with the younger ones, and parents are naturally expected and inclined to be generous with the budget, which can shoot up with an increasing number of add-ons.

If you’re looking for an out-of-the-ordinary venue that says it's rather cool than posh, look no further than your local fire station.

It’s certainly a special venue, totally different from your other run-of-the-mill ones, and it is an option that is available in Dubai.

Yes, you can have your child celebrate a very different kind of a birthday party with her/his friends at a fire station in Dubai – and that too for free.

The venue is the Dubai’s Al Manara fire station on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Under the package, your birthday boy or girl plus all party guests will get to meet real firemen and you will be given the opportunity to explore the station.

Unlike a normal party with chairs and tables imprinted with a cartoon character, you can have party food among the fire trucks and even go for a ride complete with blue lights and sirens.

And while there’s no charge for venue, it’s expected that the theme/décor for the party is related to a fire-station. Not only does that add to the overall feel of being in a fire station but at the same time highlights and shows the important job that the firefighters do.

Since the popularity of celebrating birthday parties at this fire station is fast picking up, it’s recommended that parents book early on.

“Please visit the station in advance to book a date,” the receptionist at the Al Manara fire station advises.
