The Dubai Criminal Court heard a case of two Asians who have been accused of smuggling and possessing drugs for trade purpose.

KAK, 30, painter, from Afghanistan is accused of smuggling and possessing 145 capsules, which contained 1.109kg of heroin.

RBH, 29, partner, from Pakistan, is accused of criminal complicity as he helped KAK in selling the capsules. He is also accused of consuming morphine and codeine.

Corporal Obaid Juma, testified that Dubai Police received a notification about KAK's presence at a maintenance company with the intention of selling heroin to RBH, who was staying in a hotel in the Naif area and had a prior criminal record.

On November 21, 2010, police obtained the necessary permission from the Prosecution to trap the two accused red handed.

At 5.15 pm a squad headed to the hotel and at around 5.30pm RBH walked around the hotel to ensure that he was not under observation. A few minutes later KAK arrived in the hotel’s reception with a plastic sack. The moment the two met, police officials arrested them and confiscated the drugs.

RBH admitted that he intended to buy heroin capsules from KAK for Dh313.

First Lieutenant Ali Abbas, repeated the same in his testimony and added that KAK confessed to smuggling heroin for trade purpose. The Prosecution asked the court to award the two the stiffest penalty.
