Delegation in Damascus 'malicious rumour'

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has denied that a UAE diplomatic delegation arrived in the Syrian capital of Damascus and termed such reports as "malicious rumours”.

''The latest rumour is inaccurate,'' he affirmed on his Twitter account.

Some people spread these rumours to distract attention from what is going on in Aleppo, he tweeted, emphasising that priority should be given to the humanitarian situation.

He described the rumour as a "dirty weapon" in the “great sedition of the Arab”, noting that many attempts have been made to drag the name of the UAE in many ''false rumours”.

''The visit of the UAE delegation to Damascus is yet another lie,'' he added.
