Video: US artist in Saudi King paint performance

A US artist appeared to have held captive a large number of Saudi princes, officials and dignitaries as they watched with stunned silence how he created two magnificent paintings of their King in just a few minutes.

A film run by You Tube and carried by Saudi newspapers showed the unknown artist working his way hurriedly through the two paintings, using two simple brushes and a little paint container in a packed dim hall.

For the first six minutes of the seven-minute film, viewers could still see nothing but two random, unrecognised sketches on the massive lit screen.

In the last minute, the artist who was wearing a hat threw his bombshell when he started to randomly splash dust-like sandy material on the two sketches as two stunning portraits of King Abdullah began to take shape amid resounding applause from he audience.

Sharq Arabic language daily and other newspapers in the world’s dominant oil power did not say where the event was held.

In its brief report, Sharq said:” An American artist stuns Saudi princes with his paint of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.”
