Sailing through traffic has been anything but a breeze this morning as tailbacks hit Sheikh Zayed Road once again around 9.30am when a wayward boat found itself anchored on the hard shoulder, causing gawkers to hit the brakes.

This comes an hour after a three-car collision around the same stretch resulted in major tailbacks, heading into Dubai this morning.

According to eyewitness account, the boat was tethered to a white Land Cruiser, with no signs of accident visible, “but people just kept slowing down to stare at this strange sight and the traffic simply piled up all the way from Oasis Centre to Mall of the Emirates.

“Once you crossed the rough patch, it was clear most of the way.”

Earlier today, the three-car accident also occurred between exits 45 and 46, involving two sedans and a black SUV; the white Mercedes appeared badly damaged on its left side, with the front bonnet crushed in.

Also involved in the accident is a black Audi Q7; however, no injuries have been reported at the time.

An eyewitness told Emirates 24|7: “Traffic was slow moving when I passed the accident around 8.20am, but the tailbacks were forming already. We can easily expect 30 minute delays for commuters this morning.”

Slow moving traffic was also been reported, heading out of the Discovery Gardens, along with Al Wasl Road, near Safa Park.

S T tweeted: “It seems we have returned to pre 2008 traffic conditions. This nighmatrish traffic is now a daily affair in Dubai.”
