Three UAE companies, Bayt.com Inc, Al Hilal Bank and Air Arabia feature in the list of 28 Global Growth Companies (GGCs) in Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East by the World Economic Forum.

Other firms that make it to the list from the region (Middle East) include Al Baraka Banking Group (Bahrain), Saudi German Hospitals (Saudi Arabia) and National Technology Group (Saudi Arabia).

These companies have been selected for exceeding industry standards in revenue growth, promoting innovative business practices and their leadership in corporate citizenship.

The World Economic Forum evaluates potential GGCs on certain criteria, which includes growth (demonstrated track record of above average, sustainable growth in the past three to five years); impact (major influence in their industry and national or regional competitive fields); leadership (top executive team has demonstrated visionary leadership) and global corporate citizenship (proven commitment to positively influencing the societies and regions in which they operate).

“The World Economic Forum is proud to recognise these 28 champions that are at the forefront of driving responsible economic growth, job creation and entrepreneurism in Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East.

“We look forward to their active and dynamic role in fostering inclusive, sustainable growth in the region,” said David Aikman, Managing Director and Head of New Champions at the World Economic Forum.
