Where to spot Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge before Dubai launch

Samsung Gulf Electronics has confirmed that it will be taking pre-orders and showcasing the hot new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices at the upcoming Gitex Shopper Spring edition before the spearhead smartphones are officially made available in the UAE on Friday, April 10.

“Gitex Shopper attracts consumers from across the region, and this year we’re excited to give every visitor the chance to experience our new flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge,” said Marco Vocale, Head of Corporate Marketing, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The Gitex Shopper Spring edition this year runs from April 1 until April 4, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and will be open for the public from 11am until 11pm every day.

“Visitors to the UAE’s largest electronics show can pre-order our entirely redefined smartphones straight from our stand,” said Vocale. “Customers can also expect to see our slimmest smartphones to-date, the Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 on display, along with our digital appliances and our smart TVs. Shoppers can look forward to exciting promotions and unbeatable deals,” he said ahead of the four-day show.

Samsung Gulf today marks the UAE launch of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge smartphones, its latest flagship devices. The evening launch event is slated to take place in the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, as part of the Galaxy World Tour 2015. The tour arrives in Dubai a day after the new Samsung devices were unveiled yesterday in India at a ceremony in New Delhi.

As this website reported earlier this month, Samsung said during the launch that it will start retailing the new devices in the US and Europe on Friday, April 10. The same date has now been confirmed for the UAE as well, making it among the first few countries in the world to boast Day 1 availability of the new phones.

Pre-orders for Samsung’s new devices opened last week, much before the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are made available here in the UAE. Several retailers have been offering official UAE pre-orders since then even as the devices were showcased and pre-orders were taken at the recently concluded Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper.

The Gitex Shopper Spring event will once again bring together some of the region’s biggest brands and retailers under the same roof. Organisers said returning exhibitors include Axiom Telecom, E-City, EMax Electronics, Hurricane Marine General Trading, Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Plug Ins Electronix, Samsung Gulf Electronics and Sharaf DG, who are set be among the big names offering the best deals and lowest prices.

Jacky’s Electronics has been participating at Gitex Shopper for the past 15 years and at the Spring edition of the show since its inception. Citing the show as one of the most important events for interacting with loyal customers, Mahesh Chotrani, Assistant Vice President, Jacky’s Electronics, said: “Gitex Shopper Spring gives us an added opportunity to provide our customers with more value and an enhanced shopping experience. We are expecting quite a few launches of exciting products for this event, including the Samsung SUHD TV with nano-crystal technology.”
