Woman, 2 kids slaughtered at home

An Egyptian man returned home from Friday’s prayers at a nearby mosque to find his wife and two children lying in a pool of blood after they were slaughtered.

A third child survived with serious injuries.

The man has just finished prayers and walked back home in the northern town of Tanta to find his 34-year-old wife, Shireen, his son Abdul Rahman, 8, and six-year-old daughter Habiba dead.

His 10-year-old son Yousuf was seriously injured.

Police said the mother and two children were slaughtered by an unknown assailant and that they were waiting for the third child to recover to identify the killer.
