A US survey showed that women spend 5 hours a week taking selfies, much more than males.

A poll conducted by American website feelunique.com looked at  2,000 women between the ages of 16 and 25  and found that they spend at least 16 minutes per a selfie photo session.

In order to get the right image with the right angle and illumination, women usually spend 48 minutes a day - equivalent to five hours a week; each girl takes at least seven selfies until she finds the right one.

The poll found that 14 per cent of women take selfies in order to make other women feel jealous.

The other 15 per cent said that they take selfies to make their ex-boyfriend regret ending their relationship and 22 per cent of them do it to attract the attention of someone she likes.

About 27 per cent of the girls admitted that they delete their selfies minutes after taking them if they do not get too many likes.

One out of every 10 girls takes selfies to check her face defects, so she can avoid them in the next selfies she takes.
