'A dead man can't leak stuff': US analysts want Assange killed

If the US actually wants him dead, they’re not going to go through an extradition: Fox Business Show panelist

Fox News analysts have called for the assassination of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “A dead man can’t leak stuff,” Bob Beckel, an American political commentator and a Fox News analyst, said on the Fox Business show ‘Follow The Money’, where he excoriated Assange for leaking the State Department cables that have roiled the world in the past week, and said that American special forces should kill him.

“We’ve got special ops forces. This guy’s a traitor, he’s treasonous, and he has broken every law of the United States. And I’m not for the death penalty, so if I’m not for the death penalty, there’s only one way to do it: illegally shoot the son of a b**ch,” Beckel said.

The other guests on the programme agreed with Beckel. “Obama, if you’re listening today, you should take this guy out; have the CIA take him out,” said Bo Dietl, a former New York City Police Department detective and founder of Beau Dietl and Associates, a corporate investigations firm.

“This man Julien Assange has in his sights one country alone and that is the United States. He is out after us. He’s a blackmailer, extortionist, terrorist,” said Joel Mowbray, an investigative journalist who was part of the panel on the show. “If the US actually wants him dead, they’re not going to go through an extradition,” Mowbray added.

“We do, every night, in Afghanistan, there are special operations forces that go after the enemies of the United States. This man [Assange] is an enemy of the United States,” concluded Beckel.

I do not have an opinion on Wikileaks itself one way or another, but I'm very frightened and sorely disappointed in the way American government and the loudmouths in America's media are handling this. That to me says more than any leaked document.

This man Assange? whatever his name is, will cause chaos to the whole world.

It's unfortunate that people think that this rubbish represents America. The only people worried about Wikileaks are people with something to hide! Truth hurts and so it should! I'm enjoying watching Wikileaks & Assange. Welcome to the real world!

Truth: the most deadly weapon ever discovered by humanity. Capable of destroying entire perceptual sets, cultures, and realities. Outlawed by all governments everywhere. Possession is normally punishable by death.

The leaks are true? For years. And that is a very hard pill to swallow. It's like "The world is flat." only to learn... But here's the catch - WE NOW HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE THE GOVERNMENT'S ACTIONS. We have been lied to, this is a fact, the government transcripts prove it as fact. A critical examination through the years, of all Wikileak documentation is required. Read all about it. LEARN - Wake up. Americans, and I myself, have been lied to. Now what do we do?

These men think that the worlds belong to them. Their comments show their bigotry and comtempt for human life and everything that is just.

Extra-judicial killing? Isn't that a speciality of totalitarian governments the US is so ready to condemn?

America's reaction proves that everything released is 100% true and the traitors seem to be America who are depriving their people of the most important thing - The Truth

Assange is a traitor, a US-hater, a thief, a delinquent and a potential muderer. Send him to Guantanamo.

I believe President Obama is wise not to comment on this matter. Allow the process to play out. Let Julian Assange have his day in international court. In the interim, shut down Wikileaks until the authorities & investigators can fully assess the information and potential damage.

The man is a rapist. If he were innocent then why not go to court?

I just read a Russian news story that are using this as an example of the lack of freedom of speech in the US. I guess they have a point. He's not a traitor (look the word up), he's not American.

Wouldn't the US have been been better off ignoring these leaks instead of making the public more and more aware of them? They brought this on themselves by constantly talking about it.

Political persecution, kill those that will not bow down and kiss the feet of the oppressors.

I'm with Bob Beckel. Take the S.. out! His threats need to be silenced. No comments by our officials - just do it.

OMG - I always thought that Americans were really stupid... this does not refute that assertion.

One of many reasons why Americans are so scary. Idiocy is scary. Besides, if he had 'broken every law of the United States' US officials would have no need to look for ways to prosecute him, which they are doing with fervor. Not to mention, as David said, Assange is not American. The level of idiocy here is astounding (although not really, since it's not really suprising to hear Americans talk this way).

Are they forgetting about their own errors? No one has been chastising the US government, especially since 9/11, that they have been incapable of securing sensitive data throughout the US, and abroad. How irresponsible and detrimental is that?
  • David Ward 8 December 2010 23:50 1 0
Has the media, US Government and people of the US gone mad? Why is it that the US Government has tried to switch focus to WikiLeaks, versus admitting they're idiots by allowing massive amounts of documents to be taken from secure servers within our own US government?
