Azhar's son still critical, nephew dies in mishap

Early Sunday, cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin’s youngest son, Ayazuddin crashed into a divider on the speedway.

The accident took place on Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He suffered critical injuries and still under observation.

Ajmal-ur-Rahman, Azharuddin's nephew, who accompanied Ayazuddin, succumbed to his injuries. Ajmal, 16, and Ayazuddin, 19, met with the accident when they were riding a two-wheeler.

Ayazuddin sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Apollo Hospital. The impact caused grievous injuries to his head, abdomen and chest.

Doctors treating the boy said, “He is in a state of medical cardiac arrest". Ayazuddin is undergoing treatment in the ICU and the next 24 hours is stated to be critical, reports IBN Live. Ajmal could not be revived and was declared dead after an hour.

Azharuddin, who was away in London, is rushing back to Hyderabad. He was expecteed to arrive late Sunday night.

Ayazuddin is the second of Azharuddin's two sons from his former wife Noureen, whom he divorced to marry former actress Sangeeta Bijlani. Noureen was also expected to arrive from Dubai where she lives.
