A Saudi four-year-old boy was saved in the last minute after his head was caught inside a car window when his sister pressed the button and pulled the glass up, the Saudi Arabic language daily Sharq reported on Friday.

The boy’s mother had left him and his six-year-old sister inside the car to go into a clinic for medical check up in the central town of Wadi Al Dawasir, it said.

“When the boy put his head out of the open window to wait for his mother, his sister accidentally pushed up the glass and his head was caught between the glass and upper frame of the car,” the paper said.

“The boy started to pale and his face then became bluish as he was suffocating…he then fainted and his sister started to scream…a man who happened to be passing in that area rushed to them, stretched his hand inside the car and pushed the glass down, thus freeing the child’s head.”

Sharq said the man instantly carried the unconscious boy into the clinic, where doctors resuscitated him and “saved his life in the last minute.”

“The mother started to cry when she saw her own child between life and death…when the child was awake, she was very happy and expressed her gratitude to the doctors and to Fahd bin Arnan for saving her baby.”
