Hacker held for blackmailing girl

Saudi police arrested a man who used his computer skills to blackmail a local university student by invading her laptop and seizing private pictures of hers, a newspaper said Thursday.

The 34-year-old Saudi hacker threatened the girl, 23, that he would publicize her photographs on websites unless she goes out with him. When she refused, he carried out his threat.

He then called her mobile and her phone at home and threatened to kidnap her if she rejects his demands, Alhiad Arabic language daily said in a report from the central town of Makkah.

“She then told her father, who informed the police…after a brief investigation, police located the man and caught him.”
