A Palestinian man and his fiancée decided to drop a three-year plan to marry after Israeli occupation authorities refused to allow the girl to leave her home in besieged Gaza, Palestinian newspapers reported on Wednesday.

Rashid Feddah, a resident of Nablus in the occupied West  Bank, and his fiancée Dalia Sharab, 32, were engaged in 2012 and agreed to get married but their plan was blocked by persistent Israeli refusal to let Sharab travel to the West Bank from her home town of Khan Yunis in Gaza Strip, they said.

"This is our destiny…we have reached a deadlock in our marriage plans because of the Israeli siege of Gaza," the papers quoted Sharab as saying on her Facebook page.

"We agreed to split and cancel our marriage plans…I am sorry to say that our online campaign to put public pressure on Israel failed to produce results."
