Woman sent out of mall for not wearing gloves

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police expelled a local woman from a shopping mall for not wearing gloves despite her repeated pleas to let her shop.

A YouTube film showed two members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice rebuking the veiled woman for not wearing gloves on her hands and ordering her to quickly get out of the mall in the northwestern town of Hail.

The Arabic language daily ‘Ajel’, which published the film, said most viewers slammed the two men for this behaviour and quoted Commission spokesman Sheikh Fahd Al Amer as saying an investigation is underway and that the Commission may take measures against those two members.
