At 35,000 ft, travellers told BA flight will crash

Published

When the flight was at 35,000 feet, passengers heard an announcement that they are going to crash in the Atlantic.

It was of course a taped message intended to play in case of emergency situations. But this time it was played by mistake.

The message said they will be shortly making an emergency landing on water.

There was terror and mayhem on-board a British Airways (BA) plane.

Passengers recounted screaming and crying. People thought the plane was going to crash into the dark ocean and they were going to die.

British Airways Flight 206 was over the middle of the Atlantic on Friday when the announcement was made and halfway from Miami to London's Heathrow Airport.

After about a minute, another announcement was played telling people to ignore the warnings.

An apology letter was handed out to the passengers after they disembarked from the flight.
