A young woman in East Yorkshire, suffering from bone cancer, has undergone a radical surgery to create a new knee joint using her left foot.

Jordan Moody, 22, had her thigh and knee amputated last year. Her lower leg was moved up to replace her thigh and her left foot was reattached – back to front – in a pioneering rotationplasty surgery, reported Metro.

So now she has her toes pointed backwards with her heel at the front of her leg.

The aim for such a surgery was to use her foot joint instead of her knee to wear a prosthetic without pain.

She was studying performing arts in New York when doctors first discovered she had cancer in her thigh.
