Bizarre: Female judge blames rape victim

US: A female judge in Arizona raised the hackles of many when she blamed a sexual abuse victim for visiting a bar at night.

She did sentence the abuser to two years' probation, community service and treatment for putting his hand under a woman's skirt at a barin Arizona, but there has been a huge outcry for the harsh telling that she gave the victim.

She told the victim that she wouldn't have been groped if she didn't go to the bar that night, reports NY Daily News

The victim approached the Arizona Daily Sun and local radio channels and went to town discussing the judge's comments as she felt that the judge had accused her of letting herself become a victim deliberately, the paper reported.

The judge was forced to apologise for what many view as victim-blaming comments. Thousands have urged the judge to step down.

The accused, who was a patrolman by profession, was fired by his employers.

Viagra saves baby's life

LONDON: A little infant who was born premature and was detected with complex heart defects has to be fed a spoonful of viagra with every meal just to keep her alive.

The daily dose of what is used as an anti-impoptence drug, keeps the baby's blood circulating through all parts of her body, reports news agency ANI

The tiny infant has now grown into a 19-month-old toddler and doctors hope to wean her off viagra once they find a more permanent cure for the hole in her heart.

Meanwhile, the medication that is used for treating sexual dysfunction in men is keeping her alive and healthy.

Depressed woman feeds herself to crocodiles

BANGKOK: A woman who had been battling depression promised her husband that she would see a doctor and then visit a crocodile farm in Bangkok. She never returned home.

The CCTV cameras at the crocodile farm entrance did catch an image while she was entering the tourist attraction, reports Press trust of India. The officials at the farm deny that there was any foul play inside the farm. 

However, a few workers at the farm claim that a woman fitting her description had been injured inside the far. Apparently, a few witnesses saw the woman deliberately jump over the barricade and into the dangerous crocodile pit.

Meanwhile, the husband has been contacted by someone who claims to be an official at the farm. He has also been offered a settlement.

4-year-old locked in roach-filled cabinet

FLORIDA: A heartless babysitter punished her 4-year-old charge by locking him up in a cockroached filled cabinet for hours. She would not even let him out to use the bathroom, the child told the authorities.

The 42-year-old babysitter has been charged for child abuse and cruelty, reports WTSP-TV

The woman claims she did it only four times but the child contradicted her and said he was confined in the dark space quite a few times.

The woman has undergone tests to check her mental state.

Man sues supermarket over eating too much popcorn

COLORADO: A man from Colorado has sued a supermarket based in Denver after he was diagnosed with a toxic lung disease which was caused due to eating too much microwave popcorn.

It could turn out to be a multi-million lawsuit as the man developed a chronic lung condition called 'popcorn lung' after inhaling a dangerous chemical that is contained in their microwave popcorn, reports Daily Mail

The man claims that the supermarket should have put a warning on their popcorn packet that the butter flavoured popcorn contains diacetyl, which is hazardous to health in alrge quantities.

The man used to consume three-a-day pack which led to his current condition, says the daily. Now he can barely walk short distances.
