Bizarre: No fertile men left after 50 years

There will be no fertile men in another 50 years, according to latest estimates, because of declining miscroscopic sperm counts.

Western studies have shown that the counts are falling by two per cent every year, and at this rate there will be no fertile men left in the next 40-50 years, reported 'Times of India'.

Doctors and scientists believe several factors such as stress, obesity, pollutants, endocrine disrupters, smoking, even commnly  used pesticides are all to be blamed for the falling count among men.

Between 1989 and 2002 the average sperm concentrations fell by nearly 30 per cent, a study from Scotland covering 7,500 men revealed. 

Mom sheds diamond tears

A 35-year-old woman in Boston sheds 'diamond tears' because of a condition called cystinosis,which causes a build-up of an acid called cystine, reported 'The Sun'.

While for onlookers the drops gleam like diamonds, it's pretty painful for Jody Smith, who says 'it feels like sand in them'. "They are a painful nuisance", she adds.

Smith is willing to get in touch with anyone willing to help her.

Boy starved to death by parents

The body of 11-year-old boy in Dallas who was allegedly starved to death by his parents last year has been found.

Johnathan Ramsey was starved as punishment between March and August last year, according to NBCDFW.com. His father confessed to finding his son unconscious on the floor and dumping his body.

Brain dead mom gives birth to twins

A brain dead woman delivered twin boys early this week at a Michigan hospital.

Christine Bolden, 26, suffered a fatal brain aneursm in March and was declared brain dead. However, she miraculously carried her twins, Alexander and Nicholas, to 25 weeks and delivered them on April 17, reported 'Daily Mail'.

Doctors believe two aneurisms that took her life were present from her birth and that the stress of pregnancy may have worsened them.

Her family, meanwhile, took the defiicult decision to take her off life support and save the twins. 

Widow denied pension over love affair

A local administration has denied a widow her pension because she is allegedly in a relationship.

Deepa Chougule from Belgaum, India, applied for a widow pension with the local village accountant but the application was rejected as she was 'involved with a man', reported Times of India.

The 47-year-old woman works as a domestic help and lives with her daughter.
