Bizarre: Teacher, 37, elopes with her pupil, 17

INDIA: In a shocking incident, a 37-year-old teacher from Chennai eloped with a 17-year-old male student who was studying in grade 11.

The duo were missing for more than a month. They had fled the city on February 4 and were caught in Gurgaon near Delhi and brought back to Chennai on March 15 by the police officials, reports The Times of India.

The student's parents filed a case of kidnapping against the woman for her disgusting act. However, she told the court that the boy had gone to Delhi on his own and there was no coercion involved.

However, the prosecutor argued in court that the teenager was a gold medallist and if the teacher was let free, the duo could run away together again and that would seriously damage the boy's future. 

The teacher, who is also a mother, has pleaded to the court to let her go so that she can look after her young child.

Docs diagnose kidney stones... hours later patient gives birth

BRITAIN: A woman's labour pains were misdiagnosed and doctors told her she had kidney stones.

The 22-year-old woman had earlier been diagnosed with PCO - polycystic ovaries - which meant that she was facing difficulty conceiving.

She slowly started putting on weight and started suffering from acute back pain, reveals Mirror.

When she complained to her physician, she was advised to take painkillers for her bad back.

When the back pain refused to go away, she went back to her doctor who made her take a urine test as he was suspecting kidney stones. The urine test results showed that the woman was 37 weeks pregnant and the back pain was actually labour pain.

Drunk grandparents tow child in toy car

FLORIDA: Grandparents, who were heavily under the influence of alcohol were charged for towing a toy car behind their four-wheel drive while their grandchild was seated in the flimsy contraption.

A police officer who was on patrolling duty saw them and pulled them over, reports a news website. The plastic car was attached to the SUV with a dog leash and the child was wearing a swimming costume and not wearing any gear to keep her safe in case of a mishap.

The SUV was moving at 10 miles per hour when it was spotted by the patrol car. The grandfather was driving while the grandmom was sitting at the back with the hatch open and cheering the child. 

The elderly duo were arrested for putting the child's safety at risk.

When the child's father was called in and informed about his parents' activities, the man blew his top and was furious with his parents.

It is learnt that the elderly man has a drinking problem and he admitted drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol.

However, they did not think they were doing anything wrong when they were towing their grand daughter behind their SUV.

Boy, 3, in ICU after given mismatched blood

INDIA: A little boy aged 3 is in critical state after he reacted to mismatched blood given to him during transfusion. The child is suffering from Bronchopneumonia.

Umaid Hospital in Jodhpur, where the boy is admitted, was in news last year for 17 maternal death which occurred after they were given intravenous fluid that was contaminated, reports news agency Press Trust of India.

The hospital administration has accepted that the fault lies with them and with the doctor on duty who should have checked before administetring the blood.

The boy did not even require blood transfusion as his haemoglobin level was 7.2. However, the doctor mixed the medical charts of two patients and administered the transfusion to the boy.

The boy reacted to the wrong blood immediately and doctors struggled to stabilise him in ICU.

Four film sexual assault of teenage girl

AUSTRALIA: A 16-year-old girl along with three boys aged 16, 19 and 20, have been arrested after a sexual attack on a teenage girl was filmed and spread to public via social media.

The group are likely to be charged with sexual penetration of a child under 16, manufacture child pornography and distribute child pornography, said news agency AAP.

The incident reflects the darker side of social networking sites and its power to ruin reputations and do immense damage.
