BRITAIN: In a horrifying incident, a child of three has been treated in hospital for alcoholism, it's been revealed.
Doctors diagnosed the West Midlands toddler as Britain's youngest booze sufferer, reports The Sun.
The un-named toddler is thought to have been given booze repeatedly for six months and would have suffered withdrawal symptoms of shakes and wild mood swings.
The youngster was among 13 children under 12 diagnosed alcoholic by the Heart of England NHS Trust between 2008 and 2010.
Last month, a girl of eight from Dundee was identified as the youngest alcoholic.
She had started raiding her parents' drinks and then developed "a serious problem", getting "steaming drunk" four or five times a week. In the area where the three-year-old lives 106 13-16 year-olds were treated over booze.

His 'training', their torture...

SINGAPORE: Scientist offers to teach godsons, 9 and 11, discipline but instead beats them till they bleed, deprives them of sleep.
They met at work in 2003 and became close friends four years later - so close that John, an electronic scientist, and his wife became godparents to his friend's two sons, reports The New Paper.
John and his wife have no children.
John, 45, got along well with the boys, who had disciplinary problems in school and at home.
In 2008, he told his friend, Dave, 44, a sales director, and his wife, Lisa, 41, a therapist, that he could train the boys, then aged nine and 11, to become scientists like him.
The couple agreed, little knowing that John would come up with a military style of discipline that involved adhering to a strict timetable and corporal punishment.
Sometimes he caned the boys so badly that they bled.
John was jailed six months on two counts of ill-treating a child in his care. Another two similar charges were taken into consideration at sentencing.
He is appealing against the sentence and is out on $15,000 bail. The names of those involved have been changed to protect the boys, who are minors.
As part of their regimen, the boys had to keep a detailed record of their activities for the day in a notebook every 20 minutes.
Any deviation resulted in stiff punishments such as sit-ups and push-ups, and running up and down the stairs up to 10 times in John's two-storey house.
On April 3, 2009, , John caned the younger boy 20 times and his brother 30 times for falling asleep while studying before going to school.
He knew they had dozed off as they were supposed to report to him via walkie-talkie every 20 minutes.

NEW DELHI: Just a few days after Parminder Kaur Gulati, a suspended pilot of Indigo airline, was arrested on charges of faking her marksheet to get a pilot licence, another arrest on the same grounds has been made. This time around, Captain J K Verma, a pilot of the national carrier Air India has been arrested.
"We have arrested Verma. Investigations are on. We have been provided more names by the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA). The scanner is on two more pilots - Meenakshi Sehgal of Indigo and Swaran Singh Talwar of MDLR," a senior police official said.
It all began after Parminder Kaur Gulati was grounded two months ago for violating landing norms. The matter was then reported to the aviation watchdog, the DGCA. The airline watchdog admits there was a lapse, but says 4000 pilot licences are now under fresh scrutiny.
"In the wake of the fake pilot scare, licenses of 3,000 to 4,000 pilots are being scrutinised by the DGCA," said Civil Aviation secretary Nasim Zaidi.
To get a licence, a pilot has to clear three subjects. But in Gulati's case, a probe by the DGCA showed she couldn't clear two papers, so she allegedly forged the marksheets.
