Crazy World: Staff punished with press-ups

ITALY: Staff at the Milan outlet of Abercrombie & Fitch are punished for each mistake that they make in a bizarre manner.

While male staff members at the designer store are made to do 10 press-ups for each mistake, female employees are forced to do 10 squat thrusts, union members told The Guardian.

While this form of punishment is common in a boot camp, it is quite unheard of at a retail outlet. The manager of the store sent an email to its staff members which stated that the punishment would ensure that they learn more from their mistakes.

The store hires only those males who have perfect abs to work as assistants as they have to greet buyers with bared torsos, reveals the daily. The women are sometimes asked to take their make-up off if they are found to be wearing too much of it. The men are sometimes asked to go home and shave off their stubble.

The designer store was hit by a discrimination lawsuit in the US in 2004. In 2009, a handicapped worker won damages after yet another designer store in London hid her in the stock room as she allegedly did not meet the firm's look.

Man cuts off love rival's asset and flushes it down

FRANCE: In a horrific incident, a jilted Frenchman sliced off his successor's manhood and flushed it down a toilet.

The man discovered that the mother of his two children was having an affair. His girlfriend's infidelity left him anguished and he lost control, reports Daily Mail.

The boyfriend decided to abduct his rival and implemented his plan. After kidnapping the other man, he knocked him unconscious and tied him to a chair before cutting off a major part of his manhood with a razor blade and flushed it in the toilet. The incident took place in Marseille in 2008.

The victim's lawyer told the court that his life was totally destroyed and added that the attack had been planned in advance. The victim is yet to undergo corrective surgery.

The trial is on and the boyfriend could face 15 years in prison if convicted for assault and mutilation.

Man's two wives find each other on Facebook

SEATTLE: A corrections officer is facing bigamy charges after authorities said a Washington woman using Facebook discovered that she and a potential "friend" were married to him at the same time.

According to charging documents filed Thursday, Alan L. O'Neill married a woman in 2001, moved out in 2009, changed his name and remarried without divorcing her. The first wife first noticed O'Neill had moved on to another woman when Facebook suggested the friendship connection to wife No. 2 under the "People You May Know" feature.

Wife No. 1 went to wife No. 2's page and saw a picture of her and her husband with a wedding cake," Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist told The Associated Press.

Wife No. 1 then called the defendant's mother.

"An hour later the defendant arrived at (Wife No. 1's) apartment, and she asked him several times if they were divorced," court records show. "The defendant said, 'No, we are still married.'"

Neither O'Neill nor his first wife had filed for divorce, according to charging documents. The name change came in December, and later that month he married his second wife.

O'Neill allegedly told wife No. 1 not to tell anybody about his dual marriages, that he would fix it, the documents state. But wife No. 1 alerted authorities.

"Facebook is now a place where people discover things about each other they end up reporting to law enforcement," Lindquist said.

Athima Chansanchai, a freelance journalist who writes about social media, said Facebook over the years has played a role in both creating relationships and destroying them.

"It's just the latest vessel by which people can stray if they want to," she said.

O'Neill, 41, was previously known as Alan Fulk. He has worked as a Pierce County corrections officer for five years, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

He was placed on administrative leave after prosecutors charged him Thursday. He could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

O'Neill and his first wife had issues that went back to 2009. In 2010, his first wife was arrested after an altercation with the woman who later became the second wife.

A Facebook message to wife No. 1 was not immediately returned. There was no immediate phone number available for O'Neill and his second wife.

Lindquist said it's unclear why O'Neill and wife No. 1 didn't go through the divorce.

"Every few years we see one of these (bigamy) cases," he added.

O'Neill is free, but due in court later this month, which is standard procedure for non-violent crimes, Lindquist said.

"About the only danger he would pose is marrying a third woman," he said.

Woman, 23, gangraped by seven men

INDIA: A young mother was forcibly taken away by seven men around 2.30am from Sahara Mall in Gurgaon and allegedly gang-raped by them.

The 23-year-old works in a pub and was on her way home in a cab along with her 15-year-old brother, reports The Times of India.

However, the goons followed the cab from mall in an old non-descript car and just after both the cars left the mall premises, the other car forced the cabbie to stop the car.

The victim was forcibly transferred to the other car and taken to an apartment in a nearby area and raped. She was dumped on the street about two hours later.

Meanwhile, the cabbie and the victim's brother rushed to a patrol car parked nearby and reported the matter. However, the police officials simply flashed the message and didn't moved from its parked spot. The duo were asked to go and file a complaint at the police station.

Ironically, even though the brother of the victim had noted down the car number of the vehicle that was used to abduct his sister, the police were unable to trace the owner of the car as there was a fire at the transport office recently and the documents of the vehicle under suspicion were also among those that were lost in the fire.
