Crazy World: Woman ‘pregnant’ with baby squids

A 63-year-old woman became 'pregnant' with 12 baby squid after eating calamari, according to a claim in a bio-tech report.

The mother from South Korea, was eating a portion of cooked whole squid when she felt a sharp pain in her mouth.

The bizarre claim has been made in a scientific paper from the National Centre for Biotechnology Information in Bethesda, Maryland.

The lady told doctors that she could feel something in her mouth which they described as 'bug-like organisms'.

When examined, the doctors found 'baby cephalopods' attached to her mouth. These are small pods, covered in a cement-like material to make them stick.

Inside the pods is an 'ejaculatory apparatus' and sperm - with the apparatus expelling the sperm quite forcefully.

After the victim of the 'attack' was hospitalised, doctors removed the baby cephalopods from her gums, tongue and cheek. It was only then that the pods were formally identified as 'squid spermatophores.'

The Centre's paper says: “She did not swallow the portion, but spat it out immediately. She complained of a pricking and foreign-body sensation in the oral cavity.”

According to Science 2.0, a spermatophore is similar to a cup of semen.

A similar case was reported in December last year when a woman in Japan suffered severe pains in her mouth after eating raw squid.

French diplomat charged with raping 3-yr old daughter

A French diplomat has been detained by the Bangalore police for allegedly raping his minor daughter, Karnataka Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR) Chairperson Nina Nayak was quoted as saying in the Indian media.

The Police registered a case of rape against the diplomat, working in the French consulate here, under Section 376 of Indian Penal Code.

The child's mother, an Indian, reported the case to police with the help of a Bangalore-based NGO after her maid told her that the three-year-and-ten-month-old child was sexually abused, she said.

"When the mother returned home, her domestic help told her that her husband had been in their bedroom with the child for over three hours. She found her child crying and in great pain," Nina said.

The mother immediately took her child to a private hospital at Hebbal which confirmed the sexual assault, she said, adding that the diplomat has been identified as Pascal Mazurier, deputy head of the Chancery in the Consulate of France in the city.

Nina also said the French diplomat is being questioned and further tests were being conducted to ascertain whether the rape had taken place. She said she has asked the NGO to take the child with her mother to a state-run hospital for examination and submit a report.

Canadian sisters dead in Thai resort

Thai media have reported that two Canadian sisters have been found dead in their hotel room in a southern resort island.

The sisters were found at the Phi Phi Palm Residence Hotel on Phi Phi Island. The cause of death is under investigation, but some British papers reported that food poisoning is suspected.

The Manager newspaper website quoted police Lt Col Rat Somboon as saying the women had probably been dead more than 12 hours when their bodies were discovered on Friday with vomit and other signs of a toxic reaction.

In a similar case in May 2009, an American woman and a Norwegian woman died after suffering severe vomiting and dehydration at a Phi Phi guesthouse. The cause of death was never determined.

Mom makes daughter a drug addict

A mother in Pennsylvania allegedly gave her 14-year-old daughter drugs including heroin.

According to a 'Daily Mail' report the 38-year-old woman started smoking marijuana with her daughter when the girl was just 12. The child started drugs later and when she became sick, the mother continued injecting her. It is alleged that the mom injected her about 200 times.

A man has also been arrested in the same case for allegedly giving the girl drugs in exchange for sex. However, it is not yet proven if the man's relationship was with the mom or daughter. But the teenager told investigating officers that the man gave her prescription drug suboxone and had sex three times.

Dad rape teen daughter, sets her ablaze

A father in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh raped his 15-year-old daughter and set her body on fire.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the Grade 10 student was raped by her dad when he was in an inebriated state. He later poured kerosene and toilet cleaner on her and set her ablaze in order to hide the henious crime.

The man in in custody and has confessed to the crime. He also said that his wife knew about the incident but he threatened to kill her.

Robbers threaten to cut off fingers for PIN numbers

Robbers threatened to cut off fingers of a man when he refused to part with his PIN number.

According to a 'Daily Mail' report, CCTV footages show the man being pounced over by four armed robbers in Kent. They landed a few punches on him and encircled him. The gang was armed with chainsaws, knives and baseball bats.

They were demanding that the victim share the PIN number of his cash card.

The men were arrested and all earlier robberies of theirs came to light.

In 2010 the gang had assaulted a school and stole 60,000 pounds worth IT equipment.

Man stabs wife's cat to death

A man stabbed his wife's cat after picking up a ight with the woman.

According to a 'Daily Mail' report, 60-year-old Andrew Beese from UK knifed th cat and tossed the blood-soaked body over the fence before setting to clean the kitchen floor.

He said the cat had attacked him and that he 'feared for his life'.

Meanwhile, his wife shouted that "he is a sick man and does not know his actions" and should not be arrested.
