Dog bites kid… owner fined Dh2,000

A court in Abu Dhabi fined a man from another Gulf country on negligence charges after his dog bit a little boy living next to his house.

The court of appeals upheld a previous sentence after it found evidence the dog belongs to that man and that he was negligent in controlling his pet when it attacked the boy and bit him in the chest.

Man on trial in RAK for washing line theft

An Asian man is standing trial in Ras Al Khaimah on charges of sneaking into a house garden and trying to steal clothes hanging on the washing line.

The unnamed defendant had already snatched some of the clothes when the Arab house owner caught him.

The court, which heard the case on Sunday, decided to postpone sentence to April 20, according to the Arabic language daily Al Khaleej.
