Extreme food: Angry French Canadian sandwich

Just when you thought all that death-defying fair food was gone until next summer comes another goodie, this time from Canada.

Welcome the Angry French Canadian. This beast features bacon, poutine, French toast, hot dogs, maple syrup and eggs on a greasy baguette. The calorie count? Try 5,343, reported.

The giant sandwich is complements of a group of Montrealers. "We're Canadian and we're crazy, too," sandwich co-creator Harley Morenstein.

He and his friends have started a YouTube Channel called Epic Meal Time. They started with an unbelievably greasy item called the Worst Pizza Ever, which is topped with three fast food hamburgers, an order of onion rings and an order of fries, among other items, reported the CBC . Their video for the Angry French Canadian has gone viral with more than 300,000 views.

"No, we're not dead. Actually, we're hungrier than ever," Morenstein says at the outset of the video. Then he and his two friends begin putting the gigantic sandwiches together. Next, they eat the creations (and, amazingly, they're still not dead).

The Angry French Canadian follows similar outlandish creations from America over the last several months.

During the summer Denny's launched its Fried Cheese Melt , which features four fried mozzarella sticks and melted American cheese grilled between two slices of sourdough bread. The $4 sandwich is served with French fries and a side of marinara sauce.

Gawker.com called the Fried Cheese Melt " culinary terrorism ." Estimated calories in the Denny's sandwich: 1,400, plus calories for the fries and sauce.

But the ultimate eat-it-if-you-dare sandwich may be the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger.

This bad boy is a burger with cheese and bacon sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme doughnut. It could be the unhealthiest burger in the world .

"The sweetness of the doughnut didn't overpower the deeply charred, moist patty combined with the toppings of sautéed onions, cheese, pickle chips, and chipotle aioli. Sweet and savory melded together nicely – if you're down with that combo, you'll probably like this burger," wrote reviewer Robyn Lee in the blog A Hamburger Today .
