Saudi police walked into the wedding of a local man, arrested him and led him away to the shock of the guests that have packed the wedding hall and were waiting to eat.
Police said they seized the man after his father reported that he disobeyed him and married against his wish.
“The father told police that he had picked a wife for his son but that he disobeyed him and married another one,” Alsaudi daily said without mentioning where in Saudi Arabia the incident took place.
Drunk man sleeps in car “like dead”
Shoppers in the busy town centre in Kuwait became curious when they noticed that the man inside a parked car had spent a long time asleep.
They became suspicious when he appeared not to be moving.
“They phoned the police and told them there was a dead man in the car,” the Kuwaiti Arabic language daily Alwatan said.
“Police rushed to the scene and the sirens could be heard from a long distance…suddenly the man woke up, started the car and tried to flee at hearing the police sirens…but it was too late as they caught him…tests showed he had a big amount of liquor.”
