Housemaid gets 3 months for axing colleague

A criminal curt in Fujeirah sentenced an Ethiopian housemaid to three months in prison and fined her Dh500 after she was convicted of attacking her colleague with an axe, causing head injuries, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The maid attacked the other Ethiopian maid working at the same house in Madab area in the emirate following an argument, Alkhaleej said.

The victim suffered from an injury in the head and was taken to hospital after the incident last month.


Angry husband rams wife's car over 20 times

A domestic quarrel that went sour saw the husband ram his truck into his wife's car to vent his anger.

According to an 'asiaone' report, the angry man in Malaysia rammed his truck into his wife's car at least 20 times breaking its windows, damaging its front as well as engine. Luckily his wife was not in the vehicle.

His neighbours tried stopping him, but in vain. They claimed he acted like a mad man. Finally, when he tried running away they overpowered him and handed him over to the cops. However, he was released after an hour.

Meanwhile, the neighbours are afraid and unhappy with the way the police handled the case.

One of the neighbours said she was afraid to sleep, thinking of the consequences if the man was to get angry again.
 

Man kills relative over 'unpregnant' camel

A Sudanese shepherd murdered his cousin in Dubai after finding out that one of the female camels sold to him was not pregnant.

The 24-year-old man told court that he stabbed his cousin in self defence after his “fat” relative pushed him down to the ground following the camel dispute.

Witnesses said they found the man was still alive after he was stabbed by the shepherd in Marmoum area and that he died because of heavy bleeding.

“The coroner’s report showed that it was the victim who was trying to defend himself,” the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum said.It said the judge adjourned hearings to February 22.
