India shock: Cops ask raped minor to strip

India - A teenager’s woes of being raped only worsened when she approached police to seek justice.

The 14-year-old was allegedly asked to strip in front of a cop at a police station in an eastern district of Uttar Pradesh, when she approached them to file a complaint.

According to a report in Times of India, local police allegedly asked the girl’s father for Rs 50,000 [Dh2,928] to have the case registered.

When he failed to meet the cop’s demand, the family was humiliated and sent away.

The incident came to light when the family didn’t give up and instead approached the Superintendent of Police. No sooner was the complaint filed, than cops swung into action and arrested the suspect.

The girl, meanwhile, told investigating officers that one of the local police took her into a room, when she had gone to file a complaint, and asked her to remove her clothes in order to convince him of what she was saying was true.

Man sneezes and injures 6 people

As a preventive measure, we have all been advised to stay at home when we suffer from flu. Guess, we need to also stay away from roads.

A youngster found himself in police custody, just because he sneezed while driving.

He lost control of the steering wheel and rammed into some 10 people, injuring at least six, according to a report in Times of India.

The 29-year-old Prakash Ubale was driving his car in Mumbai’s Savitribai road when his cold got the better of him.

He fled from the scene immediately fearing mob attack, only to be arrested by police from his home.

He is currently out on bail.

Woman’s lost eye found 14 hours later on tree top

A man goes in search of his mother’s mobile phone and instead finds her severed eye – and intact.

Santosh Rajput, 50, along with her grandson, 8, was returning home from a temple near Mount Abu when a bear pounced on her.

While, the animal attacked her, the child ran ahead screaming and calling for help, reported The Asian Age.

By the time the youngster brought help, the bear had gouged out one of the woman’s eyes. The group of people encountered the bear and her cubs and rescued the woman.

After almost 14 hours, when the woman’s son set out to locate her mobile phone, to his dismay he found her eyes on a tree branch. He wrapped it in a plastic cover and rushed to the hospital where his mom was admitted, but, sadly her nerves and tissues had been damaged to such an extent that the eye could not be restored.

However, an eye specialist said, the cornea in the recovered eye is safe and can be used in transplants.

In the 14 hours before the eye was discovered there was a mild shower, which apparently worked like distilled water protecting the organ, a doctor was quoted by the paper as saying.

Man shot over an egg

An egg vendor in Mumbai, India, was shot at by a gang for not adding onions to the omelette.

According to a report in MiD-Day, Pujari and his four friends arrived at the victim’s stall and ordered four plates of omellette.

But they were furious when they tasted the snack, because there were onions added.

The victim explained he could not afford onions because they were very expensive.

At which point, Pujari, allegedly took out a pistol and shot him.

He was rushed to a hospital .

Local police was quoted as saying that the suspect and his friends are criminals.
