Japanese schoolgirl beats friend to death; chops head, hands off

It’s a crime that has left a nation shocked – Japan.

Even the Japanese Police, who are in fact, used to gruesome murder scenes, courtesy the Yakuza, are shocked by the grisliness of the crime.

According to the Daily Mail, a 15-year-old schoolgirl has been arrested for strangling a classmate, severing her head and chopping off one of her hands.

The murder took place in the small town of Sasebo, 900 miles south west of Tokyo. According to the report, police named the victim as Aiwa Matsuko, also 15.

The suspect is believed to have hit her friend on the back of the head repeatedly with a blunt instrument and while she was unconscious strangled her.
 
Then, it is alleged, the suspect, cut off Matsuo's head and her left hand with a large knife.

The crime came to light after Matsuo's parents contacted police to say their daughter had not returned home.

Police officers say the two girls were alone in the apartment at the time of the crime.
