A woman in Canada who was hospitalised in intensive care with various problems had a new issue to handle.

Doctors removed about 120 maggots from her eyes and nose, reported ‘metro.co.uk’.

The report quoted a ‘Canadian medical journal’ as saying that while she was admitted for several days, an adult fly was seen in the intensive care unit.

It is assumed that the fly had laid eggs while she was admitted for treatment.

The report also states that the intensive care unit had no windows to the outdoors, so the fly had entered the unit from another part of the hospital.
