Man claims to be “El-Mehdi Al-Montathar”

A 24-year-old Saudi man who threatened to kill his mother denied the charge and told police in Kuwait that he was El-Mehdi Al-Montathar (the chosen Imam Al-Mehdi).

Police arrested the man after his mother reported that he threatened to kill her at her house in the capital Kuwait City, the Kuwaiti daily Al Rai said.

“When police asked him why he threatened to kill his mother, he shouted back ‘I didn’t…she is an arrogant woman and I am Al-Mehdi Al-Montathar.”

The paper said police decided to send the man to hospital for psychiatric examination.

Muslims believe Imam Al-Mehdi, dubbed “the ultimate savior of mankind” will eventually reappear as a great reformer who will destroy the beliefs of injustice and ignorance and fill this earth with fairness after it has been filled with injustice and oppression.
