Man jumps to death trying to escape cops

A man threw himself into the lake of Baden-Wuerttemberg state, southwest Germany, to escape from the police, but he drowned and died.
 
According to police statements, the identity of the victim is not known yet and the reason behind his escape from the police is that he didn’t want to be inspected.
 
Witnesses and police said that a car was parked near the artificial lake and the driver apparently was "drunk".

When the police checked the car it was empty and after a short search they found the driver, who immediately ran towards the lake and jumped in.
 
The man did not reach the banks of the lake, located 150 metres away, drowning in the middle.
 
Policemen jumped into the water after him but could not rescue him.

His body was recovered later.
