Man rapes woman for 10 minutes on bus

Published

US: A man raped a woman for about 10 minutes on a busy Los Angeles City bus.

The 18-year-old girl was raped while she was on the way home from school during an afternoon.

The horrific incident was captured on a security camera and officials of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department arrested a suspect, merely hours after releasing the images of the alleged assailant.

The rapist is a 20-year-old  parolee who has previously been investigated on suspicion of sexual assault.

The man apparently followed her from a long way and got into the bus with the intention of assaulting her sexually. He would apprently often take bus rides to target his victims.

Police officials doubt the driver or passengers of the bus knew what was happening. "The suspect had his back to the front of the bus. Generally, people think of rape as a kind of an attack in which someone has been thrown down. It is not always the case," an official was quoted by the media.

"The victim did not scream," he said. "The victim told the detective that she was surprised, and did not know what to do. She feared for her safety and her life."

Now, armpit test for pilots

CHINA: A Chinese airline has sparked controversy with armpit test as it plans to recruit new pilots who are free of body odour.

Zero-body-odour was the order of the day at the carrier's pilot recruitment test conducted recently, reports Asia One. Recruiters allegedly went close to the hopefuls to sniff their bare armpits.

“I passed everything, but I was doomed by my armpits, which are always a bit whiffy,” one of the applicants who got rejected was quoted  by the website.

The company defended it's stand and claimed that the pilots often interact with passengers while on flight and the customers would not appreciate meeting someone who was representing the company with any sort of body odour.

They also claim that body odour is a good indicator of how the pilots handle stress. The airline spokesperson said: "If they can keep their cool in this test, they aren’t going to sweat in the cockpit.”

According to AOL News, China has recently recruited thousands of airline personnel and the aviation industry is drastically increasing its training standards.

Smitten man gives online lover his bank account number

SINGAPORE: A man who had been trawling the internet in the hope of getting the perfect better half for himself has landed in deep trouble after his mission turned successful or so he thought.

The 31-year-old fell in love with someone whom he met on a dating website in February. He was wooed by sweet words, reports a Singaporean website Digialonline.com.sg.

Over time they became close and the duo would chat all the time on yahoo messenger. Though the 'perfect partner' refused to video chat on Skype citing technical problems, the victim supplied his partner with his bank account number so that his partner could 'buy' him an iPhone.

The iPhone never materialised just like the partner, but about $82,000 did land in his bank account mysteriously. Someone called Steve called him and asked him to transfer the amount in small instalments to different accounts.

The victim was relieved to get the money off his chest but what the restaurant manager did not realise then was that his account was being used to launder money and he was also later under surveillance from the US for money laundering.

His passport was confiscated and he is still cooperating with the authorities a year later as the case is under investigation.

INDIA: In a weird series of incidents, a man was forced to marry his dead wife's younger sister while his wife's dead body lay in front of the pair.

The young woman ahd committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling and her parents were threatening to file a police complaint against the husband for torturing her and forcing her to end her own life, accoring to media reports.

The crafty in-laws decided to save their son's imminent life in jail by coming up with plan B. They suggested that the deceased woman's younger daughter be married to the man. The parents agreed as dowry is a major menace in the Indian state of Bihar and most families have to cough up their entire life's savings to get their daughters married.

So, while the elder daughter's dead body lay in the autoposy department of a hospital in Biharshaief (a small town about 100 kilometres away from Patna, which is the capital of the Indian state of Bihar), her family ensured that her death did not go in vain by getting the younger daughter married to the same man who had tortured their elder one to the extent that she had committed suicide.
