Minor girl blamed for gang rape

A teenager, who was denied bail twice as she was accused of aiding and abetting the gang-rape of her friend, also a minor, in April this year, has at last been acquitted.

According to a report in ToI, the 15-year-old took her 13-year-old victim to a birthday party of her friend.

There the birthday boy along with his friends [all aged between 20 and 22] raped the 13-year-old girl.

The victim’s parents filed a complaint and her teenage friend was arrested on charges of abetting.

At last, she has been acquitted by the court as the Prosecution could not prove the charges.

The four adult suspects are facing trail.


Two girls elope and marry each other

Patna: In a first-of-its-kind incident, two girls ran away from their homes in Bihar to marry.

When one of the girls’ families discovered they had eloped, they filed a case of kidnapping against the other girl’s family, reported NDTV.

Police found the girls through their mobile phone location.

They will be produced in court, a police official was quoted as saying.

The girls, who were childhood friends and had studied together, married in a temple.


Priest drowns lover’s husband

Srinagar: A local priest in Kashmir has been arrested for allegedly killing his lover’s husband.

He was a frequent visitor to the man’s house, according to police who are investigating the case.

The incident came to light, when the family filed a missing report as the deceased had not returned home after offering evening prayers at a nearby mosque, reported ToI.

His body was recovered from a river a few days later.

Initial investigations reveal the priest was in regular touch with the victim’s wife and even called her at odd hours.

On that fateful day, he took the man to the river convincing him that he would perform some rituals to end his marital discord.

The suspect allegedly asked him to get on to a bridge, close his eyes and recite some verses after him. As he began to recite the verses, he pushed him into the water and left him to drown.

Two women gang-raped in separate places

Jaipur: Gang rapes continue is parts of India. A daily wage labourer was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a running car.

A MidDay report says the 24-year-old woman was hired by the trio on the pretext of some work and took her in their car.

But once the car moved, they began raping her.

She was then dropped off in a deserted place, with a warning not to disclose the incident to anyone.

However, her husband filed a police complaint.

In another similar incident, five people forcibly entered a home and gang-raped the woman of the house with whose husband, they allegedly had some property dispute.
