Mobile phone rings... from prisoner's rear-end

The prisoner had to be taken to hospital to retrieve the phone from his system

During a search of a cell in the Welikada prisons, in Colombo, a prisoner was caught out trying to hide his mobile phone when the guards heard ring tones from his rear-end, the Colombo National Hospital official said on Friday (8).

The ‘Daily Mirror’ reported that a 58-year old convict had to be admitted the National Hospital where the doctors later retrieved the handset from his rectum.

“Unfortunately for him, the phone rang at the wrong time and guards knew he had a phone at the wrong end.”

The man who was in the hospital for two days, was discharged and sent back to the prison on Friday after the mobile phone was taken out, he said.

The prisoner is serving a 10-year jail term at the high security Welikada jail in capital Colombo.
