An elderly Saudi woman arrested a thief who tried to rob her, but she surprised all the people who gathered to help her when she let him go with some money.
According to a report in the ‘Ain Hail’ newspaper the old woman was with her maid when the man tried to rob her.
The two ladies managed to over-power him and a crowd soon gathered.
However, when the man explained his problems to the woman – he was robbing for because his mother was ill and he wanted to buy medicines for her - she sympathised with the thief and gave him 5,000 riyals as contribution for the treatment of his mother.
