Teen walks free after raping 4-year-old girl he babysat

UK: A teenager who raped a girl when she was merely four-years-old has been let off by the court because it believes that society is responsible for 'corrupting' the rapist.

The judge, while reading the sentence admitted that the youngster would have been held behind bars for 6 and a half years, had he been 18 years old. Instead he got a three-year community order, reveals The Sun.

The schoolboy used to babysit the girl and was paid £10 to do so. He used to access adult content via the internet connection in his laptop. The boy told the court that his hormones had taken over after watching too much adult content.

Police officials have been asked to keep tab on him.

Woman bites off man's fingertip

TAMPA: Hillsborough deputies say a 22-year-old man wielded a kitchen knife at his pregnant girlfriend and punched her in the face. But she fought back and allegedly bit off the tip of his finger in self-defense.

The incident happened Monday. Officials charged Reginald Gefferie with aggravated battery on a pregnant female and false imprisonment. He was taken to the hospital but doctors couldn't reattach the finger tip.

Gefferie is now in jail without bail. It's unclear whether he has retained an attorney.

Deputies say Gefferie and girlfriend Junie Dieujuste were arguing when Gefferie pointed a knife at Dieujuste. Officials say he pushed and punched her in the face.

According to authorities, Dieujuste fought back in self-defense, eventually biting off the tip of the middle finger on his right hand. (AP)

CRANSTON: Perhaps there's luck in their genes.

A man from East Providence has claimed more than $180,000 in lottery winnings, a day after his son won $1,000 in a different game.

Rhode Island Lottery officials say the man on Monday claimed the $180,599 jackpot from the Wild Money game's Saturday night drawing. He was accompanied to lottery headquarters in Cranston by his wife and son, who had just won $1,000 of his own on an instant ticket on Friday.

Lottery officials didn't release the winner's name.

The winner says he wants to take his wife of 35 years on a vacation, but he's not sure how else he'll spend the money.

He bought the ticket at an East Providence convenience store. (AP)

Woman fled crash so ice cream wouldn't melt

VAN BUREN: A woman who allegedly left the scene of a minor traffic crash in Van Buren told police she did it because she didn't want her ice cream to melt.

Van Buren police say a vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane of Arkansas Highway 59 at about 6 p.m. Sunday when it was reportedly rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Flora Burkhart.

Police say Burkhart kept going, so the other driver called police and followed her home.

Fort Smith television station KHBS reports Burkhart told police she didn't think there was enough damage to merit stopping. She also said she didn't want her ice cream to melt.

Burkhart was cited for following too closely and leaving the scene of an accident.

No listed number for Burkhart could be located.
