Thai woman's hands weigh 9.5kg each

A 59-year-old Thai woman’s hands weigh a whopping 9.5kgs each.

She is reportedly the only person to suffer from the condition called ‘Macrodystrophia Lipomatosa’, which causes enlarged bones and ligaments and lets fatty deposits to build up over arms, shoulders and hands.

Duangjays Samaksamamhand has difficulty doing her daily chores, reports yahoo.com

A Japanese plastic surgeon who flew Samaksamamhand from Thailand to Japan for treatment, was quoted as saying that this is the first such case. The cause is unknown and it cannot be cured, the report added.

Meanwhile, French doctors advised her that amputation is the only solution.

She has undergone several surgeries. In one of the surgeries, doctors removed 700kg of fat and blood and it grew back within a month.
