UK parents kill girl to protect honour

A Pakistani couple who murdered their teenage daughter in Britain has been sentenced to life.

The verdict given recently was based on the testimony of the girl's younger sister - the witness to her parents killing her older sister with a plastic bag in 2003.

According to a report in NDTV, Shafilea - who was "squeezed between two cultures - began rebelling against her parents' strict rules. She would hide western clotehs and make-up in her bag at school aand change into conservative clothes before her parents picked her up.

Following an argument about her dress, her parents pushed her down on a couch, stuffed her mouth with a plastic bag and held her hands over her mouth and nose until she died, testified Alesha.

In fact, in early 2003 she pleaded with authorities to allow her to move out of her parents' home because she alleged they were abusive and 'forcing her into an arranged marriage'.

Father surrenders after honour killing

In yet another case of honour killing a father in India killed his daughter because she fell in love with a boy from the same village.

According to a NDTV report, the father - hailing from a village on the outskirts of Delhi - used the girl's dhupatta to strangle her to death.

He later surrendered to police. The girl was a Class 12 student.
 

'Smelly' granny calls cops

A 61-year-old granny in South Wales called cops because a waitress at a cafe called her "smelly".

According to a Daily Mail report, June Morris was so upset that she made an official complaint claiming it "was verbal assault".

The woman alleged that when she complained to the cafe manager, he simply said that the waitress was joking and laughted it off.

 


Killer buries woman, lives on top of it for 5 months

A couple  are accused of killing a woman, hiding her body beneath a caravan and living above it for almost five months.

According to a Daily Mail report, Darius Majchrzak, 39, strangled the victim to death after attempting to sexually abuse her.

The suspect and his partner then left the campsite in France after the killing in 2000 and settled in Dudley.
